Color management has become more common now than ever in the graphic trade. Calibration andcharcterization are words that are mentioned very often when it comes to controlling colors andwhen you want a printed picture to look the same as an original photograph. The problem is thatthere are not so many people that has the knowlegde about this subject. Even if a printer supportscolor management it is not sure that the result is going to be satisfied and that a printed picture isgoing to look the same as the original.The printers which were used were Hp DeskJet 970 Cxi, Xerox Docu Color 12 and AgfaChromapress 50i. The theory of color, colour management and the equipment which were usedare described in the first stage.

The purpose of this Masters thesis was to examine women printers conditions in Sweden from 1483 to 1883. Women printers usually inherited their printing businesses from their husbands. We wanted to examine the circumstances surrounding women printers, how they managed to keep their companies and for how long. This thesis presents the design and implementation of an accounting and status notification system for the LPRng print spooler. A solution using SNMP to query for needed accounting and status data is presented, a design built upon this, and an implementation produced. As the system derives from the requirements specification, it will make no attempt to solve all printer accounting problems or to offer compatibility with all printers, database management systems or print spoolers. The teachers of the graphic education want to makeuse of the variable data function and procure a variable data software. The purpose of this project is toevaluate variable data software?s, so that the most suitable choice of software can be made for the graphiceducation.

Litorapid Media AB is a printer and prepresscompany, located on Hisingen, Gothenburg. Litorapid is a relatively large company, and is therefore in great need of convenient contacts with becoming and present customers. Seeing that they work with the most rescent technique in the branch of printing, it is important that they market themselves in a modern way. The purpose with this project became, for that reason, to create a more contemporary home page for the company to catch new customers, as well as aninteractive presentation of the company to create a more personal contact with customers they alreay have. The home page was created in the programme Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, and its design is based on previouly distributed brochures.

The aim of this thesis is to examine Sven Almqvist?s research on the 17th century book printer Johann Kankel who was employed by count Per Brahe the younger on the island of Visingsö. A model to describe the communications circuit, constructed by book historians Thomas R. Adams and Nicolas Barker are used as well as the historical source criticism method. This model consists of the five phases: publication, manufacture, distribution, reception and survival.

Volvo Cars in Skövde manufacture and assemble Volvo engines. When attaching the ignition coil to all 4-cylinder engines, a special mounting tool is required. This mounting tool is currently manufactured from injection-molded polyoxymethylene (POM), a thermoplastic. It has been noted that the life span of the tool is shortened as a result of abrasive wear that occurs during the attachment process of the ignition coil.An investigation of the possibility of manufacturing the mounting tool with a 3D-printer is undertaken in cooperation with ÅF, a consultant to Volvo Cars. A literature study is first presented to introduce broader knowledge on the subject.

Speedledger is a company that is working to automate electronic accounting for businesses, organizations and associations.In the current situation bank data is sent from the users internet bank to Speedledger via a virtual printer driver. The driver transforms the web page into a PDF and sends it to a server for interpretation.The problem is that PDF is not created for this sort of data transfer and makes the interpretation of data is very problematic.The goal of the thesis is to study whether there is a possibility to develop a browser add-on that can retrieve information on the customer's banking page and send it on to Speedledgers server for interpretation. My task was to implement a add-on for one of the three major browsers Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then study the possibility of implementing it to the other two by reading the documentation.What I concluded was that it is possible to implement for all the three browsers. However, the techniques will differ slightly when developing these add-ons.  .

För ett framgångsrikt förbättringsarbete med att minska makulaturen krävs därför att all personal är engagerad.Examensarbetet utfördes på Bobergs Tryckeri AB i Falun, ett familjeägt företag med 60 anställda, som producerar personifierad direktreklam och blanketter. Syftet var att undersöka hur pappersmakulaturen kan minska och målet var att hitta orsaker samt ge förslag på åtgärder för att minska den.Genom intervjuer med personalen kartlades produktionssprocessen och utifrån det utarbetades förbättringsförslag. Exempel på förbättringsförslag är att kontinuerligt mäta och rapportera makulaturen, förbättra kommunikationen mellan avdelningarna och utveckla färgstyrningen. Litteraturstudier och kontakter med nyckelpersoner inom branschorganisationer och andra liknande företag, var till stor hjälp i arbetet.

This project had the aim to produce an exhibition catalogue for the ValandSchool of fine Arts (BA level). The purpose was to give the student a professionalfrontage and to visualize there exhibition concept through the catalogue.What elements, typography and shapes should be used for this purpose?How important is the physical format that the catalogue has?Through a massive sketch phase I came to see the difficulties in creating anexhibition catalogue. What type of images, shapes and expressions that couldrepresent the concept behind this specific art exhibition was hard to find.What shape should the catalogue have?The work became more than just making an exhibition catalogue, the cataloguehad to communicate the specific concept in a clear way.

Examensarbetet omfattade framtagande av ICC-profiler fo¨r substrat till storformatskrivaren Mutoh Toucan PJ-1614NXE (Mutoh Toucan) hos BEMI REKLAM AB (BEMI), Borla¨nge. Fo¨retaget har tidigare anva¨nt en standardlinja¨risering till samtliga substrat fo¨r storformatskrivaren, dock utan att applicera na°gon ICC-profil fo¨r utenheter. Samtliga substrat till Mutoh Toucan a¨r avsedda fo¨r utomhusbruk.
